There’s something wonderfully creepy yet mesmerizing going on here- I can’t quite put my finger on it… But then again, I wouldn’t expect anything less from one of my favorite mixed media artists, Allison Schulnik (whose work we featured here back in the day). Definitely also check out this video Ready, Able she did for Grizzly Bear if you haven’t seen it already. The things this woman does with clay is incredible!

Hola amigos! It’s definitely been a while… I’ve recently relocated to Los Angeles and have seriously neglected our little community here. But as a shout out to all my peeps back in the east coast, I’d like to feature a few pages straight out the sketchbook of Kevin Ragnott, an extremely talented New York based artist.

Steve Smith comes at us with another mind-bending psychedelic journey. This time, it is the music video for the title track off Slugabed’s first Ninjatune release, “Moonbeam Rider EP.” (Check out his last submission here.)

“This animated piece of visual psychedelia comes to us courtesy of director/creator Igor Bastidas and Caracas, Venezuela-based producer Pacheko (a proponent of his city’s so-called “raptor house” scene), who remixed veteran reggae artist Max Romeo’s “Protest to M1″ for the accompanying track. The spacey, dubwise sounds of the tune prove to be an ideal soundtrack for Bastidas’ surreal visuals; the slow groove matches the video’s hypnotic pace, the heavy delay and reverb compliment its otherworldly look, and the underlying political tension of Romeo’s vocal track lyrically illustrates the dystopian story of the clip. This is a solid piece of work all around. If you dig Pacheko’s track, look for it on Senseless Records.”

Lamar & Nik have created these incredible cityscape Ice sculptures using a series of handmade clay molds. Soldering irons were used for details, while the lighting was solely provided by TV’s and Christmas lights. Filmed all in a normal two car garage for a little over $200 dollars, with no CGI! Kilian Eng, A.K.A. DW Design is an illustrator, graphic designer, and animator based out of Stockholm, Sweden. He works internationally for many music groups, clubs, and does various commissions.
